Air Products Expands its PRISM® Solutions Range for On-Site Nitrogen Production

• Nitrogen generators now also for applications from 10 Nm3/h

Air Products' new PRISM® mini nitrogen generators now enable on-site nitrogen generation for users with a gas requirement below 200 Nm3/h and a purity between 95% and 99.999%. Compact and modular, the generators require only a small space and are easy to install and operate. “Its flexible configuration means a particular advantage for customers, because the system stops and starts automatically according to the gas demand. In combination with state-of-the-art technology, this reduces the consumption of air and electricity. This not only reduces the costs for energy-intensive applications, but also supports the sustainability targets of many companies through the associated reduction in CO2 emissions. In addition, the nitrogen generator can often be integrated into the existing compressed air network”, explains Lieve Van Bellinghen, Business Manager Generated Gases Northern Continent.

The basic technology of the generators is the process of Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA), which is mainly used in large plants up to now. Depending on the plant design, the PSA process supplies nitrogen in degrees of purity of 95% to 99.999% - using considerably less supply air than other typical processes require.

The nitrogen produced by the PRISM® plant is not only suitable for typical applications such as metal and plastics processing or for processes in the chemical industry, it also complies with EC regulations 178/2002 and 852/2004 for food and the European Pharmacopoeia and can therefore also be used in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

The PRISM® mini nitrogen generators were developed based on Air Products' sustainability strategy.
